How Much Should a Roofing Company Spend on Marketing?
Published 5 March 2026 · by Manoj Kumar
Generic advice to spend "X% of revenue" on marketing ignores the two factors that actually determine a sensible roofing marketing budget: how much a booked job is worth, and how expensive the local competition has made the relevant search terms.
A more useful starting point is working backward from lead economics — what's a qualified estimate request worth, what's a realistic close rate, and what cost per lead keeps acquisition sustainable at that close rate. Storm-damage-driven demand spikes also mean budget flexibility matters more in roofing than in most home service categories.
In practice, that means starting with a smaller, tightly tracked campaign to establish real cost-per-qualified-lead numbers for a specific market, then scaling budget once those numbers are verified — not committing to a large flat monthly spend before the data exists to justify it.
